Howdy Adventurers,
Davies Canyon – 2-day overnight wilderness trip – traversing through Sally Camp Creek then exiting up Mt Paralyser.
– 7-11 pitches of gorge and waterfall abseiling
– Up to 55 metre abseils
– Distance 20km
– Moving through very steep scree slopes
– Camping at end of the canyon before the relentless climb out to the top (time for army cadence tunes)
Pre-requisites:
@ Rig and manage anchors or releasable anchors.
@ Be able to abseil in cold waterfall conditions.
@ Have good fitness to be able to manage the steep climb up Mt Paralyser (up to 4 hours) and be able to maneuver through steep slopes throughout the trip.
@ Actively participate in group canyon work, everyone will be carrying ropes, rigging anchors, and scouting for routes.
@ We are camping, so you’ll be carrying camping gear and food, in addition to canyon gear and ropes.
The canyon requires teamwork, efficiency, and good rope management to make it through in daylight, good adventure vibes are also essential!
Sorry, no beginners – I will run a beginner’s canyoning trip soon…
Experienced self-sufficient canyoners only.
