canyoning
Hi everyone,
Caielan and I are planning to finally visit Hole in the Wall Canyon up in the Bungleboori on Saturday the 22nd. The plan is to head out early and do Hole in the Wall and maybe Banks Canyon too if we are a very quick group. The canyon features some brilliant slot, a couple abseils and some beautiful creek walking down Dingo Creek after the canyon (an experience pretty unique to this area)
— Who is This Trip For ? —
This trip is suitable for beginner to intermediate canyoners. You need to have:
– Completed AS1 (Abseil Skills 1) with the club or have previous canyoning / abseiling experience.
– Have a good level of fitness (This canyon is on the more remote side)

— The Plan —
We will organise to carpool early in the morning and drive up for 8am start at Waratah Ridge Carpark where we will hand out gear and head off. It is a long drive up so some of us are considering driving up to camp the night before.
– The canyon’s track notes estimate the trip will take around 7-9 hours
– We may also do Banks Canyon if we have a fast enough group. Although this is pretty unlikely.
– Preference will be given to those who are able to bring a car, particularly if it’s a 4WD or AWD. (Let us know in the signup)
– The rest of us will organise to carpool
— Gear —
– Canyoning gear. We will send out a spreadsheet to organise.
– Atleast 2L of water
– Some way to tie your hair back if you have long hair! (Important)
– Enclosed grippy shoes (i.e rubber bottoms).
– A change of clothes
– Rain jacket
– Headtorch
– Lunch and some snacks!
– Hawaiian shirts are encouraged if you have one (it’s a fun little club tradition at this point)

– List you’re experience
– If you have a 4WD or similar you can bring let us know
– Whether you think Fetta or Goat’s cheese is superior
– Anything else you want us to know
