Hello New Members!

Abseiling is an essential skill to have for club trips such as multi-pitch abseiling, canyoning, and climbing. Join Alex and Susan on this skills trip that will give you the techniques and knowledge to undertake a safe and successful abseil.

What we will cover
• Maintain personal safety at the top and bottom of cliffs
• Prepare for an abseiling activity
• Conduct pre-abseil safety checks
• Get on and off the rope
• Communicate between cliff top and bottom
• Perform a variety of abseils
• Negotiate common abseil hazards
• Perform fireman belays

This trip is for beginners

Where & When?
Morning Session: 8am – 12am
Location: Burrows Park, Clovelly Cliffs

Transport
Participants will need to catch a bus from Central to Clovelly Beach.

Personal items to bring:
• Closed Grippy Shoes, no flip flops or open-toe sandals.
• Warm comfortable clothes.
• Light rain jacket in case of light rain.
• Sun protection.
• Snacks and water.
• All long hair must be tied back.
• Fun adventurous spirit!

All rope, safety equipment, helmets and harnesses and sanitization will be provided by the club.
