skills workshop
Gday,
After a few recent experiences its become obvious that we don’t train the most important aspect of rope rescue (in my opinion). On Monday evening Ill be running over the basic skills and techniques to build hauling systems and using mechanical advantage.
We will hopefully cover:
-Lifting and lowering live loads
-The terrible maths behind systems, calculating friction and MA.
-Simple systems
-Complex systems
-Compound systems
-When and where to use these skills
If we have time I will also try to bring some more professional gear so you can see what would be used a more serious rescue situation.
This will be an informal session, do not expect a long and in-depth lecture. This should be a simple and fun way to refresh your skills or learn something new.
Cheers,
