Hello New Members!
Abseiling skills are an essential prerequisite to a number of the clubs most popular activities. These include canyoning, climbing, and caving! Join Wally and Matt on this skills trip that will give you the techniques and knowledge to undertake a safe and enjoyable abseil.
We will cover
– Maintaining personal safety at the top and bottom of cliffs
– Preparing for an abseiling based activity
– Conducting pre-abseil safety checks
– Getting on and off the rope
– Communicating between cliff top and bottom
– Negotiating common abseil hazards
– Performing fireman belays
This trip is for beginners and new members of the club. No experience required.
Participants will need to catch a bus from Central, or otherwise navigate to Clovelly Beach.
All rope and safety equipment will be provided by the club.
Hawaiian shirts encouraged.
