Easy/Moderate Walk: Asgard Plateau
Come frolic amongst the pink flannel flowers along the Asgard Plateau! This is a once in a lifetime chance to see the rare pink flowers which only bloom after bush fire. They were spotted only a week ago so fingers crossed they are still covering the rolling hills for our trip! Our walk leads us to some spectacular views over the Grose Valley from Ikara Head, Thor Head and Asgard Head. Adding to the trip are some historical sites such as Mackenzie Mine and Brick Kiln, so bring your headtorch! We will likely do the trip in 2 defined walks of 2-3hr each which takes us to the features and back to the starting point along the same track. However depending on how the group feels on the day, we have another option to do the walk as a whole loop of about 7hrs which includes some easy navigation off track. Both options will see the main features as mentioned and can be decided on the day based on group preference and energy levels. After tramping over the countryside we will jump in our cars and have a quick visit to the Victoria Falls lookout to top off our trip.

– Members who want an all day walk with scenic views, no experience required and have a moderate level of fitness.

Duration of Walk
5 hours or 7 hours depending on route chosen by group
Terrain
Mainly open scrub plains with gentle undulating hills with a couple of steeper sections.

– Minimum 1.5 L of water
– Sunscreen & Hat
– Sturdy closed in shoes
– Lunch and Snacks
– Petrol money $15 for your carpool driver
