Hi all,
Nuwan and I are running Rock Skills 1 at Wahroonga Rocks (Northern Bushland of Sydney) on April 3rd, 2021.
This trip is for those with some indoor climbing experience who want to try their hand at real rock outside! Successful completion of UTSOAC Rock Skills 1 allows you to join beginner climbing trips with the club.
Make sure you detail your climbing experience in the Sign-up information.
We will cover:
– Cliff safety
– Equipment
– Pre-climb buddy checks
– Communications/calls
– Top-rope belaying
– Basic rock climbs on top rope.
The club can provide you with climbing gear for the trip, please Cut & Paste the following into ‘Gear I Need Section’ when signing up (if you don’t know the name of something, you probably need it):

– Helmet
– Harness
– PAS + Carabiner
– ATC + Carabiner

Climbing shoes are strongly recommended.
