Hello, legends!
Have you ever wanted to feel like an action hero and abseil down the sides of buildings and cliffs? Or maybe you are one of those who like getting a little wet and need to hone your skills to try out canyoning? Why not start that journey by joining us at Clovelly beach, where we will arm you with all the skills you need to abseil proficiently and safely! No prior experience is required!
IMPORTANT: This day will run with 2 sessions. THIS IS THE MORNING SESSION! Please, let us know your skills/experience with abseiling or climbing in the field below. The gear will be provided by the club.
What we will cover:
– Cliff and Gear Safety
– Safety checks prior to an abseil
– Communications between abseiler and belayer
– How to abseil (descend a rope in a controlled fashion using a rap-rack or ATC)
– How to fireman-belay an abseiler
