Hello all,
Keen for a bit of making and crafting? Some family friends and I have got our hands on DIY Packraft Kits: https://www.diypackraft.com/
An important skill for completing the project is TPU welding, which is basically just melting the plastic fabric together properly. It doesn’t just work for packrafts of course; you can make lots of other things, like pillows, seats, dry bags, or Flamingoes. We have heaps of irons and scraps for practice. The club has also purchased some packraft kits and may start assembling them in the near future — it’ll be good to have people that know how to repair these.
It should be a fun and educational. We’ll order pizza, and the burgeoning Rover Unit (scouts aged 18-25) will be having their trivia night.
