canyoning
G’day Folks,
Next weekend, Zen and I will be heading out to the Bungleboori for two days of canyoning. We’ll be carrying all our camping + canyoning gear out into the bush where we can setup a basecamp for exploring a couple of remote canyons.
Legend has it that back in the 80’s an Aussie canyoner peered down into a dark slot in the Bungleboori Wilderness and, stunned at what he saw he uttered “Crikey Mother of God!”. Thus the slot was dubbed “Crikey Canyon.” Crikey has a reputation for being one of the deepest darkest slots in the Blue Mountains.
This is an advanced trip, the canyons out here are remote and rarely visited, neither of us have been out here before, so we’ll be problem solving on the fly.
To join this trip you must:
– have previous canyoning experience and can abseil independantly
– have previous overnight hiking experience
– have a good level of fitness – days could be long with a lot of bush bashing and route finding
– be confident with exposed scrambling
– be available for the whole weekend, we’ll be leaving early Saturday morning and returning potentially late Sunday night
