[FULL] Camp Skills 1 – Beginner Camping Weekend

Never camped before? Don’t have your own tent? Perfect! This trip is aimed at providing an introduction to the joys of camping. You will learn how to be self-sufficient, set up a tent, make a campfire, organise yourself, and much more.

Itinerary

Saturday
– Arrive at Bell Station and get driven to camp (8.29 Train from Central reaches Bell at 11:12 – Don’t miss it as the trains are only every 2 hours)
– Set up tents
– Afternoon hike or Dry Canyon (no abseils, AS1 not required)
– Dinner
– Campfire and sleep

Sunday
– Breakfast
– Pack up camp
– Drive to Glenbrook Pools
– Swim
– Go home either from Glenbrook Station or somewhere along the drive

Gear I need: (Club CAN provide – Copy-paste and remove what you do not need)
– Tent
– Sleeping Mat
– Sleeping Bag
– Camping Chair (limited available)

Personal Gear (Club CANT provide)
– At least 3 pairs of clothes
– Warm jacket
– Two pairs of shoes including something to hike in
– Swimmers and Towel
– 2-3L of drinking water at a minimum
– Toiletries, there will be drop toilets but no showers
– Food
– Any medication you take/need
– Powerbank to charge your phone (there will be no reception)

Saturday Dinner:
We aim to cook a meal for everyone, please state your dietary requirements.

Food to bring:
We do not have enough stoves for everyone so bring non-perishable food. Avoid things that go off or will melt. There will be no shops nearby so bring everything you need.
