G’day fishies,

The people have spoken (if you haven’t, go take our survey), and apparently y’all are really keen on snorkelling. Lucky for you, we’re surrounded by some pretty amazing marine reserves. A popular one is Cabbage Tree Bay and Fairy Bower in Manly, which you can easily get to via public transport. Then a short walk to Shelly beach. I do NOT recommend trying to drive and park.

Start: 1000

Finish: 1400ish, or whenever you’re sick of being on an awesome Australian beach.

Gear: Swimmers, sun protection, money for snacks and transport, beach towel, change of clothes. Extra neoprene if you catch chill easily.

Club can provide: Snorkel and mask, but these are limited. Let us know if you need one.

Skills: Please state your swimming ability. There’s heaps of ocean about. Shelly Beach is not exactly rough waters, but you should be able to swim 50-100m. That’s where all the turtles, cuttlefish and gropers will be!
