Come along and join Andrew and I on a beginner’s off-track hike to Dadder’s Cave!

Dadder’s Cave is located a bit past Pisgah Rock near Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains. The hike is comparatively short in terms of distance, but will be fairly involved as it involves some off-track navigation and bush-bashing to get to the campsite. We’ll have two options to camp, one being next to the river and the other being up at the cave itself.

Track notes for those who are curious can be found here: https://wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/glenbrook-eastern-blue-mountains/dadder-cave.html

Parking at the trackhead is somewhat limited, and requires payment for those who don’t have Parks Passes, so where possible we’ll be carpooling to and from the start of the hike.

Given the trip goes through an off-track environment, preference will be given to people with off-track experience or experience with multi-day hikes. Some equipment will be available to borrow from the club, such as backpacks, tents and sleeping bags/mats on a first-come basis. Items that you will need to provide yourself include a water filter and a toileting kit (no toilets at the campground – Leave No Trace ethics apply).
