Hi,
We’ll be doing a day hike on Megafest Saturday 7th December in Blackheath, walking the Grand Canyon track (https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/australia/new-south-wales/grand-canyon-track–5). At approximately 6km with 300m elevation gain and reportedly fantastic views, this is a great walk for beginner bushwalkers and the injured.
Depending on how everyone is feeling afterward, there are some other short walks nearby that we can also do before heading back to the Megafest campsite.
Please include your plan to get to/from the walk so we can organise car spots.
When and where?
– Saturday 7th December
– Grand Canyon Carpark at 10:30am (see Getting there)
– We’ll have lunch at a lookout after the walk
What should I bring?
– Closed, supportive shoes
– Sun protection (i.e. hat, sunscreen)
– Comfortable clothing
A comfortable day pack containing:
– Water (1 litre minimum)
– Food
Getting there
– For those camping on Friday, meet at Cathedral of Ferns at 9am. I’ll have 4 spots in my car, and we’ll see how we go from there.
– For those going directly there, meet at Grand Canyon Carpark at 10:30am (https://maps.app.goo.gl/6Mq5AwcXMeskxfh77).
– If required, we can do pickups from Blackheath station
