Hello wetrock enjoyers,
This Saturday 5/4, Susan and I are heading off to Ranon canyon:

this is a very pretty canyon, though probably not the best beginner canyon, a couple under your belt will help here.
We will be starting early (~6am) from storage to handout gear, our goal will be to carpool where possible. There is no public transport to this canyon.
This canyon will take us all day, you will likely not get back to Sydney til late.
Pre-reqs:
– Ability to swim 50m+ unaided with a pack
– Confident abseiling
– Good fitness – the hikeout involves around 500m of ascension, this will involve a few hours of steep, uphill walking carrying a pack
– Must be able to be at storage at ~6am on Saturday (this may end up being earlier TBD)
– Comfortable jumping in water at a height
– Comfortable scrambling around rocks, trees etc
The club can supply all gear as per normal. If you do need gear I will send out a spreadsheet for booking purposes.
