Hey everyone,
We will be running a beginner hike in Leura on Saturday.
It is a relatively easy hike, so if you’re new to hiking but have a moderate fitness level (it’s an 8.5km+ walk), this is for you! Of course, more experienced hikers are also welcome.
We will meet up at 11 am on Saturday at Leura station, then car shuffle 12km to the start of the trail.
The walk gives 360-degree views of the Mt Hay area with excellent scope over Fortress Creek Waterfall and into the Grose Valley. Check out this blog post of the fantastic views that await!https://www.walkmyworld.com/posts/lockleys-pylon
WHEN AND WHERE?
– Saturday the 5th of April
– We’ll meet at 11 am on Saturday at Leura station
– We’ll probably finish the walk before 4:00 pm
– We’ll have lunch somewhere along the trail
– The walk is in the Blue Mountains National Park
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
– Closed, supportive shoes
– Sun protection
– Insect Repellent
A day pack containing:
– Water (1 litre minimum)
– Your lunch and food to share
GETTING THERE
– Train to Leura station, don’t miss the train as they are not frequent
– Drive yourself
In the sign-up information, please put down any hiking experience you may have (‘None’ is fine) and what food you will bring for our picnic
