Hat Hill Canyon – Friday, April 25
Hi all,
Zen and I are heading up to the Blue Mountains on Friday, April 25, to do Hat Hill Canyon. It’s a beginner-friendly canyon near Blackheath, perfect for those new to canyoning! There are no abseils involved, so AS1 is not required for this trip.
Trip Details:
- Meeting Time: 8:30 AM at the Hat Hill Canyon car park.
- Duration: Approximately 5–7 hours.
- Experience Level: Beginner-friendly; no abseiling experience required.
What to Bring:
- Canyoning gear: pack, wetsuit, helmet, dry bag
- At least 2 liters of water
- Lunch and snacks
- A way to tie back long hair
- Closed, grippy shoes that can get wet and aren’t waterproof
- Dry clothes for the walk out (optional)
- Rain jacket and head torch (always a good idea when canyoning)
Camping Invitation:
After the canyoning trip, Zen and I plan to camp overnight at Butterbox Point. You’re welcome to join us! Please let us know in the comments if you want to join us (and if you need any camping gear) or if you want to head back that evening.
View from the campsite ^
Transportation:
As we’ll be staying overnight, drivers will be prioritised in the sign-ups to help coordinate transportation for the day trip.
