Wee Jasper Caving Trip – Punchbowl & Dip Caves
Adventure Level: Intermediate to Advanced | Abseiling Experience Required
Join us for an unforgettable underground adventure in the limestone wonderland of Wee Jasper, exploring two of its most exciting caves: Punchbowl and Dip.
This trip is for people with previous abseiling experience, as both caves involve vertical pitches and technical rope work. You’ll descend into Punchbowl via a series of abseils that open up into spacious chambers, decorated with impressive formations. Dip Cave offers a different challenge, with tighter passages and more complex navigation.
Expect a full day of adventure, including rigging, abseiling, climbing, and lots of mud. This is a physically demanding trip suitable for those with a moderate to high fitness level and a taste for the vertical side of caving.
What to bring:
Full caving kit (helmet, headlamp, overalls, gloves)
Vertical gear (harness, descender, ascenders, cowstails, etc.)
Personal food and water for the day
Camping Gear (tent, sleeping mat and sleeping bag)
Helmets, harnesses, tents and descenders can be borrowed from the club.
A sense of adventure!
Note: This trip is not suitable for beginners. Participants must be confident with abseiling and basic vertical rope techniques.
