Climb where there are no bolts and be free.
Trad (Traditional) Climbing requires the climber to place their own protection as they climb, enabling access to the inaccessible. This requires additional technical and rope handling skills from the climber, and an understanding of an expanded range of equipment.
What we will cover:
– route assessment and planning
– placement of removable protection; nuts, hexes, cams,
– use of natural protection,
– assessment of protection,
– removal of protection,
– basic crack climbing techniques,
– safety and risk management.
Who is this course for:
– Those who have completed Lead Climbing Skills or equivalent and have some additional lead climbing experience,
– Those who have completed Multi-pitch Climbing skills or equivalent and have some additional multi-pitch climbing experience.
NB We will be accepting participants on a case-by-case basis based on their experience, please indicate your experience when signing up.
