Hi all,

On the 31st of October and 1st of November, Ollie and I will be heading out to the Bungleboori for an overnight canyoning adventure. Both Nosedive and Fortitude are on the North side of the North branch of the Bungleboori, and both are supposedly quite nice (though I wouldn’t know, they’re not very well published). The Bungleboori is one of Ollie and I’s favorite canyoning areas, because it gives that true wilderness feel, so it’s high time we checked these out.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
⁃ You should be familiar with overnight adventures, off-track stuff, and canyoning, even if you haven’t done these things together before.
⁃ Good fitness – these canyons will be long days with lots of bush-bashing and uphill walking. You’ll also be carrying overnight gear AND canyoning gear.
⁃ Describe your computer’s wallpaper in the signup so I know you’re paying attention.
⁃ Comfortable swimming.

If I don’t know you, please summarise your relevant experience in your signup.

THE PLAN:
⁃ We’ll meet at Zigzag Railway on the Friday evening (30th of October), and drive up to the Bungleboori Picnic Area for a hodge-podge camp.
⁃ We’ll pack up camp and leave nice and early on Saturday, and then proceed to dick around for a couple hours while we figure out what roads we can and can’t drive on. Hopefully, we’ll end up somewhere near here with a reasonable amount of daylight left. Saturday will involve walking out on Railmotor ridge, dropping camping gear at the top of Nosedive, doing the canyon, reversing the Bungleboori to North-East creek, exiting, collecting our stuff, and camping (hopefully) in a camp cave in the headwaters of Fortitude canyon (a very big day).
⁃ On Sunday, we’ll do Fortitude with our camping gear in tow (so we need to waterproof it all), reverse the ‘boori to North-East again, exit to Railmotor ridge, and return to the cars

GEAR:
You will need overnight hiking and canyoning gear, as well as food for both days. Let me know what gear you need from the club in the ‘Gear I Need’ box.

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,
Zen & Ollie
