Hello Snow Lovers,
Sam and I are heading up to the Snowies for a 3-day, 2-night snowshoeing and snow-camping adventure in Kosciuszko National Park—and we’re inviting a small group of experienced winter hikers to join us!
🗓 Trip Dates:
Saturday to Monday (returning Monday evening)
Optional: I may travel down on Friday—let me know if you’re interested in joining early.
📍 Location:
Route TBD, but likely around the Main Range or Guthega area.
🏕 Trip Overview:
This is a challenging winter trip focused on snow travel and alpine camping. We’ll be snowshoeing through stunning alpine terrain, practicing winter survival skills, and camping in the snow. It’s going to be cold, beautiful, and unforgettable.
⚠️ Important Notes:
This trip is not suitable for beginners. You must have prior snow experience and be comfortable with remote, alpine conditions.
✅ To Join This Trip, You Must Have:
- Winter-rated snow camping gear
- Recent overnight hiking experience
- Previous snow-camping experience
- Ability to use and carry snowshoes
- Good fitness (you’ll be climbing snow-covered mountains with a heavy pack)
- A car or willingness to share driving (preferred)
- Prompt email communication
- Willingness to pack out your own waste (yes, that includes poo—no exceptions)
$$ Costs:
- Shared petrol
- Snowshoe and pole hire: approx. $70
