Date(s) - Saturday 01 June, 2019
6:30 am - 6:30 pm

Multi Pitch – Boars Head
(https://ozultimate.com/canyoning/abseiling/notes/boars_head_rock.htm) down then
Shandy climb out, likely only Pitches 1 and 2, Grade 8
( https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/blue-mountains/rhum-dhu/route/13141495 ), We will likely top belay participants , given numbers (max 4 plus 2 Leaders)

A full day depending on the party.

Your benchmark to do this with Dushy, Dan and myself :
Personal attributes:
Very comfortable with heights and scrambling
Diligent and knowledgeable for safety, including near edge.
Disciplined but adventurous .
Able to climb and abseil with an up to 15kg back pack

Min Experience:
Abseil Skills 1
Rock Skills 1
At least 2 outdoor climbing trips, beginner/intermediate

Depending on your level of experience attending a workshop at the Ledge or Climbfit, St Leonards may be compulsory.

Despite the climb being a Grade 8, it will help build your experience of practicing rock skills on real rock, things like rope handling, Knots, safety and efficiency. You’ll be expected to carry, set up abseils, pull down, coil and then do it again (and again) in an environment where it counts to do it correctly. You’ll need to think about what you should rack up with.

What you will need:
Preferably your own harness with gear loops (just to show you’re serious!)
Climbing shoes and nice to have your own:
ATC or equivalent, NO GRI GRI’s pls
2 off 120cm slings
4 lockers

And of course
2 l of water
snacks n lunch (we’ll lunch on a ledge)
personal first aid

I’d suggest warm clothing in layers, including a rain/wind proof lightweight layer.

A backpack for all that and stuff the team will need, eg ropes more gear. 30l is big enough.

We may limit numbers for safety reasons.
Please register early and only if your are committed to the trip and the possible workshop.
