YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED AS1 WITH OUR CLUB
Abseil Skills 2 gets you closer to knowing the necessary checkpoints to setting up an abseil.
Why? Abseiling into or out of a climb, canyoning, multi pitch abseiling etc
Why? At some point you may not have your experienced, Club leader with you.
We will cover:
Select appropriate equipment for rigging basic abseil anchors.
Manage rigging equipment correctly.
Learn to tie specific knots.
Construct basic abseils.
Move up and down a rope using a variety of friction devices.
Abseil using a self-belay only, “third hand”
Remembering the classroom is not enough to allow confident, independent trips, so do a few with an experienced abseiler.
Some showers are predicted, it’ll be cold so you’ll need to layer up.

Lindfield rocks is on Sydney’s North Shore, about 1.5 lm from Lindfield train station.
