canyoning
We are heading off to explore the canyoning area around Barrington Tops.
Specific Canyons have not been decided yet.
It could range from long 12hr days such as Williams River to Manning River upper regular 6hr day.
Canyons up north are relatively warmer than Blue Mountain canyons, but super wet.
We’ll be using Single rope techniques, and it will be expected to be lots of scrub bashing and off tracking walking.
Pre-requites skills required:
- Self-sufficient confident canyoner
- Able to rig and manage SRT anchors
- Carry ropes
- Able to navigate and scout for routes
- Able to swim 100m in deep cold water with backpack
- Comfortable to abseil in waterfalls
- Good fitness
- Good adventure vibes
Would be good to have more licenced drivers on the trip to assist with driving the Tops ~5-6hr drive.
This will be a sort of long weekend, planning to leave Friday mid-afternoon (depart Sydney around 3pm).
