G’day Adventurers,
Our friends at Valley Outdoor Canoes have cooked up a deal for us – they’re going to bring their canoes to Bengalee!
The Shoalhaven area prides itself on being the canoe capital of Australia, with some of the most beautiful sections of river to explore just outside of Nowra. For those keen for their weekly shivering, there’s also deep water soloing and an awesome jump rock around the bend (brrrrr).
We’ll aim for at least a 10km (out and back), so this is for strong paddlers and swimmers only please. You are welcome to bring your own boat as well, but if it’s a tippy model, do bear in mind the wind forecast.
The fee will include all PPE and equipment, but we’re self-guiding. We’ll also self cater a nice picnic for ourselves along the river. I have a portable firepit!
When you sign up, please let tell me:
- How far you can swim
- What is the difference between a canoe and kayak, and if you’ve paddled either before
- Whether you’re camping Friday/Saturday, or completely separate from minifest (you’ll have to arrange own transport if so)
