abseiling

Note: I won’t accept anyone until Monday the 26th

Hi everyone,

On the 15th of September, Sabs and I will be running an abseiling trip to Boars Head. We’ll be abseiling down a series of cliffs and enjoying the amazing views before walking back out.

WHEN:
– 15th of September, 10:00 am
– We will aim to be back at the car by 5:00 pm

WHERE:
– We’ll meet at Cahills Lookout parking area and walk to Boars Head, from where we’ll start our abseils

WHAT TO BRING:
– Helmet (club can provide)
– Harness + PAS (club can provide)
– Abseiling device (club can provide)
– Spare carabiners (2) (club can provide)
– Closed, grippy shoes
– A rain jacket (for wind protection)
– A way to tie long hair back (if applicable)
– Lunch + snacks
– Plenty of water (2L+)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
– You must have completed Abseil Skills 1 (AS1)
– You must have a decent level of fitness
– You must be comfortable with heights
– Some additional abseiling experience would not go astray (not compulsory if you feel comfortable with abseiling from AS1)
