Hi all
Are you up for a spectacular hike through a deep slot canyon?
This is an advanced level hike with steep descents and ascents, lots of boulder-hopping and amazing views both from the top and from within the slot section of Bungonia Creek.
The track down into the gorge and back up is steep but well-established, whereas the section at the bottom required some scrambling and rock-hopping. Please be mindful of this and your own skill and experience levels when signing up for this trip.
Please let us know the following when you sign up:
– your prior hiking experience
– your fitness level for a long steep ascent back to the cars
Personal gear you will need to bring:
– Backpack
– 2L of water
– Lunch and snacks (there are no shops in Bungonia)
– Hiking shoes with good grip
– Appropriate clothing – it can get chilly in the slot canyon, so please bring a warm layer and a wind-proof layer)
– Sun protection
Please also indicate if you have a car and can potentially give people a lift. Bungonia is about a 1 hour drive from where we’ll stay for Minifest. National Park fees apply for any cars entering Bungonia.
If you would like to get a lift from Sydney and back to either the Minifest location or Sydney, please let us know. A $20 petrol and national park fee contribution will be appreciated by the drivers.
