G’day folks,
Zen and I are planning a night time excursion down Claustral Canyon.
Who is this trip for:
– People with very good cold tolerance
– People who aren’t afraid of the dark.
– People who have done too many canyons and are now seeking new and novel adventures.
What to expect:
– A lot of glowworms.
– The Black Hole of Calcutta looking even blacker than usual.
– The unique opportunity to experience Claustral Canyon when the air temperature is cooler than the water. Will this make the icy swims feel unusually warm? Probably not…
– An 8pm start and hopefully no later than 3am finish.
This trip is definitely one for experienced canyoners. We’ll be keeping the group small and fast. Everyone will need to provide their own waterproof headtorch + a backup torch + spare batteries. The club headtorches are not waterproof.
