G’day All,
Next Saturday (October 17th), Suhail and I will be walking a section of the Six-Foot Track in the Megalong Valley. The bushwalk will be approx.12.6Km, with some relatively steep ascents of around 400m.
We will start at Megalong Road and walk out to the Bowtell Swing Bridge at the Coxs river, which is an excellent stop for lunch and a swim.
What to bring:
• Backpack to carry all the below:
• At least 2 litres of water,
• Hat, sunnies, sunscreen,
• Sufficient lunch and snacks to sustain you for 5 hours of walking,
• Warm comfortable clothing and light rain jacket (in case it rains)
• Swimmers if you want to swim
• Sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes,
• Good attitude and adventurous spirit.
• Petrol money for drivers
Suhail and I will probably be camping up in the mountains Saturday night. If you’re doing Abseil Skills 2 on Sunday, you might want to join us to avoid the long drive back up to Mt York the following morning. If you don’t want to camp, we can easily give you lift back to a train station.
