Calling for Expressions of Interest from Trip Leaders who’d like to take part in a one-day outdoor rope rescue skills session with a certified instructor at Wahroonga Rocks.
This session is designed for climbing Trip Leaders who want to build their skills and confidence to lead more trips. You’ll learn and practice skills such as:
• Assisted hoist
• 3:1 and 5:1 hauling systems
• Escaping a belay
Prerequisites:
To join, you should already be able to:
Tie a friction hitch, clove hitch, munter hitch, overhand knot on a bight
Prusik up a rope using 6mm accessory cord (no mechanical ascenders)
Confidently abseil over challenging terrain
When submitting your EOI, please include details of how you meet the prerequisites, as we need this to confirm your place.
If you miss out this time, or want to build up the prerequisites, come along to the club’s monthly Tuesday night skills sessions, where we practice and build towards these skills together.
