Bushwalk Route:
~10km Day hike in Royal National Park from Engadine station effectively following this All Trails route – https://www.alltrails.com/trail/australia/new-south-wales/engadine-to-heathcote-loop-via-engadine-trail
– From my experience walking in that area, the fire trails we’ll be sticking to are an underutilised section of the RNP,
– The Gorra Ridge Fire Trail is underutilised and quite nice to walk around
– If walking near the urban fringe of Heathcote doesn’t appeal, we could also use the Engadine track to cut back to the Gorra Ridge Fire Trail

Theme/Pacing:
– Walk will be slow paced, following the Japanese style of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) i.e. take time to enjoy being in nature
– A slow pace would lead to a walk time of ~3 hours, I’m thinking to take it a bit slower and aim for ~4 hours

Date & Time:
– Saturday 6th July
– Meet at Engadine station at ~8:30am (aim to leave by 8:45am)
– Unfortunately, it looks like buses replace trains on the Illawarra line. So if you’re coming from the city you can get a train down towards Sydenham and a bus to Engadine, or alternatively catch a 49SC Thirroul bus which will head express from Central to Sutherland and then all stops to Thirroul (Engadine will be 2nd stop from Sutherland)

Additional Notes:
– If you have your own first aid kit or supplies you are encouraged to bring those along (just in case) – we won’t be venturing far away from civilization so no stress if you don’t have your own supplies!
