canyoning
Hello Adventurers!
Its getting warmer, so its time to get the canyoning season rolling!
Join Caielan and myself this Saturday, for a Mount Wilson classic- Gobsmacker Canyon (otherwise known as the less catchy ‘Lower Bowens North Canyon’).
This one is a pretty canyon with some nice abseils and swims- check the link below for more info:

Experience Required:
Must have completed Abseil Skills 1 (AS1) or equivalent experience
List any previous canyon trips you have done (none is OK)
Must have a decent level of fitness – steep stairs out with all your gear
Must be comfortable swimming in deep cold water
Please address the above when applying for a spot on the trip!
Gear Required:
Helmet (club can provide)
Harness (club can provide)
Abseiling Device (club can provide)
Gloves (club can provide)
Wetsuit (club can provide)
Canyon backpack (club can provide)
Drybag (club can provide)
Rain Jacket to block wind (some parts will be cold)
Closed, Grippy Shoes
Lunch and Snacks
2L of Water
Notes;
– Clothes for walking in/out of canyon- preferably not cotton
– Change of clothes + footwear for end of trip (optional but recommended)
– If you feel the cold, you may want to add layers of thermals underneath the wetsuit. Wool or synthetic are fine- if in doubt- ask us 🙂
