Hi all
We’re planning a hiking trip from Otford to the Figure 8 pool in Royal National Park and back for this Saturday. This is an intermediate hike – about 15km total distance with moderate elevation gain. If you haven’t been, the views are stunning (with a good chance of spotting whales!) and once we’ve arrived, it’s your choice if you’re crazy enough to go for a dip in the Figure 8 pool or just take photos.
We’ll start and finish at Otford train station, which is easy to reach from the city.
If you’re keen to join, then please make sure you tick the following boxes:
– Good level of fitness and comfortable to walk for 15km on uneven terrain with some fairly steep climbs and descents
– Appropriate hiking gear, including good shoes and a backpack (and swimwear if you’re keen to jump into the Figure 8 pool)
– Lunch, snacks and 2 litres of water
– Sunscreen and sunnies
We’re aiming to meet in Otford at around 9am on Saturday morning and be back around 3pm.
