ABOUT THE CRAG:
Stonehaven is the land of the grade 20 face climb. It’s quite a large forested crag on the south coast that can be accessed via a beautiful 1 hour train ride from central. The route selection suits intermediate climbers with a some good quality crack and face-climbing routes in the 14-18 range, but it really comes into its own in the upper intermediate range or 19-23 and at least one classic grade 24 (Napalm strike).
GETTING THERE:
By car to Stonehaven street in Stanwell Tops or you can on the train via the south coast line. 8:30 train from central will get you to Stanwell park station for 9:30. The trail up to the crag leads right off the station platform.
