If you’ve ever thought “how cool would scaling rock walls in the Aussie Bush be?” or wanted to expand your climbing terrain beyond the climbing gym, then this trip is for you! This is a beginners rock climbing trip, no experience needed, that will teach you the fundamentals of rock climbing including:
• Cliff safety
• Equipment
• Pre-climb buddy checks
• Tying into a rope
• Communications/calls
• Top-rope belaying
• Basic rock climbs on top rope
This trip is ESSENTIAL to going on any future climbing trips with the UTSOAC, so get on board! Let us know what your experience is in the sign-up sheet, even if it is nothing but enthusiasm for adventure.
The club can provide you with climbing gear for the trip, please Cut & Paste the following into ‘Gear I Need Section’ when signing up (if you don’t know the name of something, you probably need it):

Gear I Need (Delete anything you do not need)
– Helmet
– Harness
– PAS + Carabiner
– ATC + Carabiner
Additional BYO
– Lunch and Snacks
– At least 1L of water (more if you drink more)
– Sunscreen
– Appropriate shoes and clothing
– Climbing shoes are strongly recommended
