Hi Members,
I’ve decided to post an intermediate canyon for any members this Saturday morning as an expression of interest. This will be a private trip but it is open to anyone who might like to join.
The Lower Bowen Creek North Branch canyon itself is a great canyon with impressive rock features, waterfall abseils, and an optional huge jump into deep water at the exit…yay Canyoning will require confident abseiling skills (abs1 completed), the ability to swim 50m, be fit enough to walk sustained uphill with backpack and be coordinated scrambling over logs, rocks and boulders, oh and a positive attitude.
Gear:
You will be required to bring your own wetsuit.
Canyoning gear such as helmet , descender, harness, dry bag, backpack is personally required although if you do not have contact me and I might be able to help with my spare gear.
Other relevant gear/details I will provide if signing on
As I’ll only have 2 spots we will move fast and smoothly as a group so I expect a 5hr trip then drop by megafest at cathedral camp ground and return to Sydney that night.
