Multi-pitch climbing allows you to climb routes beyond the limits of your rope length, setting up belay stations along the way. Why come back down when you can keep climbing?
James, Gordon and Marta will be running a climbing skills trip at Mt Gibraltar with a focus on the core skills needed for multi-pitch sport climbing. Mt Gibraltar offers some great low grade multi-pitch routes to put the skills into practise.
What we will cover
– Safety & risk management,
– Building multi-pitch sport anchors,
– Setting up and operating a top belay,
– The process of leading and seconding a multi-pitch route.
Who is this trip for
This trip is for those with existing lead climbing skills wanting to learn to multi-pitch
Requirements:
– must have climbed outdoors,
– complete rocks skills 1 & 2, abseil skills 1 & 2, or equivalent,
– completed lead climb skills or equivalent,
– must be comfortable with heights,
– must have own climbing shoes and padded harness (not the tape style).
