Adventurous greetings everyone!
Who?
All UTS OAC members are invited to participate in a ‘Natural Movement’ Skills Workshop.
The coach will be Matt Walker (About Me)
What?
Basic MovNat/Natural Movement + Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) skills workshop (3 hours).
The first workshop would centre on fundamental skills such as balancing, jumping, running, crawling, and self-defense/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Whilst Matt will only be covering the basics in this first workshop – check out this video to see what an advanced practitioner of this movement system can do: https://youtu.be/SKGF-ErsJiI
Cost depends on the number of participants: e.g. 5 students = $30/hour
Why?
These skills may enhance your safety & enjoyment of any of the adventures that our club plans for you.
By equipping you with the movement skills, physiological preparedness, & mind-set necessary for practical, adaptable performance – Natural Movement can help prepare you for real-world situations!
Additionally, Natural Movement incorporates breath control & mindfulness into its method, which can help improve mental focus & resilience during outdoor adventures. By training the mind and body together, MovNat can help to prepare you for the challenges of outdoor activities.
BJJ is a grappling-based martial art that emphasises technique & leverage over brute strength, making it an ideal complement to your natural movement skills. BJJ training can help improve ground mobility & positional control, which are essential for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and rock climbing.
When?
9am to 12pm.
Saturday, 22 July 2023.
Where?
28 Cross Street, Brookvale.
