rogaining
I’ve heard whispers through the eucalypts that our club members are keen to brush up on navigation skills.
Many of us actively practice and learn through rogaine events – cross-country navigation competitions where you have a time limit to tag flags placed on a map (see more here). The sport originated in Australia, and it has offered me many memorable opportunities to push myself and get lost in the bush with good friends- often places I’d not have ventured otherwise.
Join us Monday night at the Ledge, to go over some old competition maps. See what they look like, what they tell you, and hear what we learned pursuing the courses we plotted. Then meander over to the Forest Lodge Hotel with us, and we’ll discuss navigation in 2021. Many big events last year got postponed, including the state and Oz championships, and we’re raring to finally have a go at those courses later this year.
Chat soon,
Salome
