rogaining

Hello Adventurers,

I bet you’re as itchy to get out as I am. NSW Rogaining Association volunteers have loaded some maps from previous competitions into an app called MaprunF. It’s a great way to learn/practice rogaining while events are on hiatus. Adam, Alex, and I are going to check out the Hornsby Heights route, previously featured in the “Nyctophobia” (night-time) event. And because we’re currently blessed with an early sunset, we’re aiming for late afternoon to get some moonlight wandering in.

More info on that here: https://nswrogaining.org/wpblog/map-run/?fbclid=IwAR0tVq7dFCgTRloC4AG1ziqSW1p-Le7upgXGfRePkwhwa6zV2NGa3fGXUFc

The familiar 10 person cap applies. Mind the guidelines we have in place for social distancing, including the club’s official statement below. I missed some of you lots, but no hugs and kisses. Just save them for later in the year when we win!

Current statement we have regarding COVID-19:
“The club has protocols in place to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Please note that if you have symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, such as cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever, you should not join the activity. If you present with symptoms you may be asked to leave the activity.”

I will provide disinfectant wipes, but please also bring hand sanitizer. We will travel to the race location separately. Hornsby Heights Hash House is a short walk from the station.

Download the app and check out the maps shared to that linked google drive in the blog post above.
Please bring a headlamp (your phone torch may well do in a pinch).
Bring water and a small snack.
Wear good shoes.
Wear clothing you’re fine getting torn or dirty.
Mind the weather and the temperature.

Get lost, folks
