skills workshop
Hi all,
I’ve had it in mind to do some skills workshops at The Ledge during the Weekly Social Nights, so thought I’d kick it off with a short workshop on knots.
Learning knots is a great way to start learning how to do rope rigging. The more you practice your knot work, the better you’ll remember them when you actually need them.
We’ve got a bunch of rope ends in a bucket, so we’ll go through how to tie some knots and what they’re used for.
Among others, I’ll probably go over:
- Clove hitch
- Munter hitch
- Overhand knot
- Alpine butterfly
- Figure 8 (+ on a bight)
- Barrel / fishermans
Join us afterwards for some climbing, and/or dinner at the Forest Lodge Hotel @ 8pm.
Entry to The Ledge is $10.
