Hello Adventurers!

This is the sister canyon to Claustral and rightfully also gets a 10/10 for quality.

Described as one of the most striking canyons with fantastic water features, stunning flora and a pretty decent effort to get through, its a must have to add to Claustral!!

Suitable for intermediate or experienced canyoners, get ready to push rock and bash bush and get a little bit wet!!!
It will be a long day, you’ll need to be fit and ready for a sun-up till sun-down expedition. It’ll be worth it which is why we keep coming back! Bring you spirit for adventure….and your sense of humour!

I’ve done Claustral a few times but the Ranon entry will be a first. This is why I’m bringing my most trusted aid, Susan So – sometimes described as the Queen of Canyons, to assist when needed.

More information can be found in the following links:

This will be a small group of 6 people (2 leaders + 4 participants) and I can give people a lift from UTS. Priority will be given to non-TL’s. Passengers, there will be a $15 charge for the ride there and back. Please and thank you.

We will try and car pool as much as possible, save unnecessary exhaust fumes, limit emissions, etc.

Information regarding gear, travel arrangements and so on will be sent to successful applicants.

Pre-requisite:

– If you need club gear you must know what you need (wetsuit size, etc) prior to gear pick up this Thursday (4th Jan). Happy to pick up gear but would appreciate you factor in helping to bring it all back.
– Must leave Sydney for the Blue Mountains by 6am on Saturday the 6th of Jan. (we will discuss transport options once places are confirmed).
– Available to drop off gear at the end of the trip, Saturday the 6th of Jan. Will most likely be late evening.
Please tell me your abseiling experience in the comments section of your registration.
– Able to swim at least 30 meters unassisted
– Must be comfortable to scramble or climb short vertical ascents.
– Good fitness, you must be able to hike for several hours with a backpack.
– Comfortable with scrambling around boulders, logs and other obstacles
– Comfortable with jumping into a pool of water from a height
– We may improvise anchors and do some creative route finding so get comfortable with that. We WILL be looking for the abseil shortcut exit again.
– Must respond to all emails promptly

The Queen of Canyons and I are looking forward to taking you out there!

Cheers
Dushy
