Hi all,
Ehren, and I are running Rock Skills 1 post O’day. It would be great if some new trip leaders could assist.
This trip is for those with some indoor climbing experience who want to try it outside! Successful completion of UTSOAC Rock Skills 1 allows you to join beginner climbing trips with the club, which you’ll need for some minifest trips.
Make sure you detail your climbing experience in the Sign-up information. Or at least say your favourite colour.
We will cover:
– Cliff safety
– Equipment
– Pre-climb buddy checks
– tying into a rope
– Communications/calls
– Top-rope belaying
– Basic rock climbs on top rope.
The club can provide you with climbing gear for the trip, please Cut & Paste the following into ‘Gear I Need Section’ when signing up (if you don’t know the name of something, you probably need it):

Gear I Need (Delete anything you do not need)
– Helmet
– Harness
– PAS + Carabiner
– ATC + Carabiner

Climbing shoes are strongly recommended. You’ll have a miserable time compared to those who have them.
