abseiling
Hello, adventures,
Are you a climber, canyoner or just like ropes? And don’t yet know how to ascend ropes? Well, this is the mini-trip for you.
Ascending ropes is a vital self-rescue skill important to anyone doing outdoor rope activities. During this trip, you will learn how to ascend a rope using prusiks and alternative devices and techniques. Additionally, we also look at how to change from abseiling to ascending and vice versa.
This trip is excellent for those who have learnt the basics in Abseil skills 2 and want to practice with prusiks and also want to be introduced to exciting new methods of ascending ropes. You may have a device you can use and not even realise it!
Pre-requisite: Have completed abseil skills 2 or are confident on ropes.
Please outline your rope experience in the signup information box.
What you need:
– Harness
– Prusik set (2 chest & 1 leg prusik)
– Carabiners x 3
– ATC device
If you do not any of this gear please mention what you need in the gear section.
If I get lots of EOI, I will run this trip regularly in the future.
Location: The Ledge
I look forwards to teaching you new techniques.
Cheers,
Chris.
