Just when you thought this event wasn’t happening, “unfortunately” for you it still is.
The time has come once again to go on a venture to Deep Pass for some serious fun in the name of all the Easter bunnies out there. This year you’ll have the pleasure? of joining myself and my unfaithful assistant Elaine on a Mafia themed 4 day sorta fancy bush campout. I say this every year, but I will say it once again for all you muggles out there (wait no, that was last year..), that this is not for the antisocial folk.
It is a 4 day intensive of games, swimming, cooking, etc. Sitting in your tent by your lonesome will not be tolerated. The main event is the game day (usually Saturday), involving team challenges and this year also a potential betrayal by your mate. Monday is a potential rock climbing day somewhere in the Blue Mountains on the way home.
Deep Pass is a hike-in campground, so a good level of fitness is required. If you haven’t been before it’s located in Newnes Plateau, beautiful and remote, although there may be other campers. It has a swimming canyon a short walk away and as far as I’m concerned a pretty clean water source for drinking, as well as plenty of firewood.
We also usually hold a dessert cooking comp, but due to popular opinion and the strong need to avoid diabetus, it is optional. But feel free to make something fancy and share around 😉 Trip leaders love to be spoonfed dessert hehe
Gear you need:
-backpack (club can provide)
-tent (club can provide)
-sleeping bag (club can provide)
-sleeping mat (club can provide)
-cooking equipment: pots and stove (limited:club can provide) can cook on the fire too
-swimwear and towel
-sunscreen
-food for 4 days (3 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 3 dinners + shnakkss)
-drinking water (only if you’re vanilla and don’t enjoy perfectly good creek water)
-climbing gear for Monday to leave in the car:
harness + PAS, helmet (club can provide)
climbing shoes (bring your own)
Climbing rope (if you have one)
Favouritism will be given to those who can stay the whole 4 days (Fri & Mon are public holidays) and are keen to play games for the 96hrs we’ll be spending at the campground.
