Howdy Club Members,
Alex, Nat and I, are running a Tuesday night Single Rope Technique workshop at North Sydney Scout Hall.
This trip is primarily for trip leaders, new or experienced wanting to learn the techniques and advantages of SRT in a canyon setting.
This will include demonstration and practice in:
#How to set-up an SRT pitch
#How to set-up an SRT block
#How to create an SRT releasable system
#How to create a haul using an SRT set-up
#How to manage sharp rock edges with SRT
#Retrieving ropes with SRT set-ups
If we have time…maybe: How to set up a Mickey Mouse – double strand and both releasable system
The workshop involves the following prerequisite knot knowledge:
Munter mule over hand, please familiarize yourself with this knot before the night
It is highly recommended for you to attend this workshop in preparation for the SRT Training Weekend at Kanangra 9-10 March.
The club has limited SRT gear currently, please try and source a figure 8 style abseil device. We will do our best to gather as much SRT gear as possible for the night.
See you at the workshop!
