G’day OAC,

I’ve been teasing it for a while, but the details have finally come together.

We will be at Lavender Bay from 0900 -1500.

You can hire Kayaks and kit for $50/day from 1st North Sydney Scouts (mate’s rates, pretty tough to beat).

When your booking is accepted, I’ll send through payment details. If you don’t transfer by March 21st, you may lose your booking to someone else on the waitlist.

This course will cover the basics of paddling a kayak in flatwater (<Grade 1). The aim is to do some drills, develop boat control, and get comfortable with capsizing. The material will be a pre-requisite for Paddle Skills 2.

This course is oriented towards hard-body creek or touring kayaks with a skirt. Other styles of boat won’t be covered (if you still want to attend for some of the rescue knowledge, discuss with me).
