Bells Creek Canyon & Clean up Australia day A ver Bells Creek Canyon & Clean up Australia day A very rainy but beautiful descent of Bells Creek Canyon, followed by a huge effort cleaning up all the rubbish hidden on the side of Bells Line of Road, in total they picked up around 1000kg of rubbish! that's 1.5 trailer loads! Unfortunately most of the rubbish was likely thrown from passing vehicles, although they came across two dumping sites & found 8 car tires. We highly recommended bringing a rubbish bag or two on your next canyon trip so we can all slowly clean up the areas we enjoy. Shoutout to Sean, Zen, Henry, Charlie, Lachlan, Max, Marta, Aminah & Toby for cleaning up! #canyoneering #abseiling #cleanupaustraliaday #canyon #bluemountains

Monsters, killers and ghouls alike, give a toothy grin. Through the canyon one by one, a spooky night of ghoulish fun... It's time for another pubgaine!!!! For those unfa It's time for another pubgaine!!!! For those unfamiliar with the concept, PUB-GAINE is a combination of ‘Pub-crawl’ and ‘Rogaine’. In the former, lots of drinks are had. In the latter teams of 3-5 race around to collect Control Points with the aid of a map and compass. Combining these activities makes for more than a good time! We'll meet at Victoria Park on the 20th of Feb, the exact location will be posted via our story on the day! Over the Australia Day long weekend some of our me Over the Australia Day long weekend some of our members set off on an advanced canyoning trip, the plan was to descend Gloucester Falls, Manning Gorge & Polblue Falls, although the latter was dropped due to concerns about high flows. The weekend was filled with long abseils, stunning vistas, good vibes & a LOT of water on your head (I could barely see anything! - Kieran). On the 10th & 11th of January 5 of our members set On the 10th & 11th of January 5 of our members set out to descend Thurat Rift canyon & Thurat Spires out in the Kanangra Wilderness. They enjoyed a sunny first day filled with 17 spectacular abseils and a slide described as "The best we've ever encountered in the greater blue mountains". Unfortunately on the second day conditions were less than ideal so the party decided to hike out via Kilpatrick's causeway instead of Thurat Spires (There's always next time). Thanks to Zen & Arthur for organising the trip!

On Megafest Sunday 2025, (the 7th of December), so On Megafest Sunday 2025, (the 7th of December), some of our Trip Leaders ran a trip to Dam Cliffs in the Blue Mountains. The day began with some dry climbing at the crag, before the party moved to swimming and deep water soloing for the afternoon. The weather could not have been more perfect; as temperatures rose, the opportunity to cool off in the Dam would have been a saving grace. Thank you to our trip leaders Sean and Charli for running this day out! I'm sure it would've been an excellent trip. + congratulations to all who topped out their climbs! Last weekend, 6 - 7th of December (+ other nights Last weekend, 6 - 7th of December (+ other nights for some) we hosted our annual Megafest weekend in the gorgeous blue mountains. A weekend enjoyed by all, with more photos to come. On the 6th, some of our wonderful trip leaders ran a canyoning trip through Gobsmacker, a cracking canyon for a cracking day out. You couldn't ask for much better. Whilst back at camp a total fire ban ensued, Hammy (our event organizer extraordinaire) organized a festive meal for the UTSOAC crew. Whilst I was not able to attend (silly car breakdown), I was told it was a lovely meal and an even better evening. Stay tuned folks! On Sunday the 16th, 7 of our trip leaders went on On Sunday the 16th, 7 of our trip leaders went on a special canyoning trip to help train and prepare our trip leaders for this years canyoning season. The party descended through Jugglers, a beautiful canyon located in the gorgeous blue mountains and practiced the key skills required for safe canyoning. In addition to the trip being a great success, it was a beautiful day out - perfect weather for proving gravity isn't real! Thank you to the trip leaders for organizing this trip, we can't wait to see the participants' skills in action this season!
