Nat and I will be running a climbing trip in Bonnet Bay for those who are interested in coming along. We’ll be starting around 10:00am and spending a few hours there, wrapping up in the early afternoon depending on how everyone is feeling.
Bonnet Bay is a small crag located down in the Sutherland Area and has a number of climbs that range in the 15-19 range, with a couple of three star climbs in the early to mid twenties for those who want to show off their skills. This should make it accessible for most climbers, whether beginners or more advanced individuals. Details of the climbs can be found here: https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/australia/sutherland/area/12010099
Due to limited public transport options, preference will be given to those who have vehicles and are able to take others. There is plenty of parking nearby and a very short walk in to the crag. There are no places to purchase food nearby, so please ensure you have packed something to eat.
When registering, please state if you require any equipment, including helmet, harness, belay device, as well as the last time you went climbing outdoors, whether or not it was with the club. If you have any experience in building anchors and/or lead climbing, please let me know as it will help in ensuring that we have multiple people available to set up ropes.
We will be taking a maximum of 12 participants on this trip, however in order to do so will require at least one more trip leader for this event. If we are unable to find another trip leader this trip will have a maximum of 8 participants.
