Hello,
Do you have some experience in backpacking and hiking and want to do something a little more extreme? Are you keen to get out into the snow and play around outside a crazy expensive resort? Well come join us on a mission to Kozi on a hut to hut hiking mission through the snowy mountains.
The plan is to drive up on Friday night post work and camp at Island Bend campground where we can set up a small camp. Early Saturday morning we will begin the trek out to guthega power station and from on to Horse Camp Hut, Whites River Hut and then finally Shlink Hut where we will be camping out on the snow and attempting to get some mediocre ski runs in. We are planning to return to Sydney very late on Monday night.
If you have an interest in backcountry skiing or snowboarding bonus points, it a delightful trip on BC gear..
If you want to attend please list your experience in hiking, backcountry skiing, climbing and hiking.
You will need cold weather gear/ski gear, sleeping bags rated to -8, insulated sleeping mats and a willingness to embrace the cold.
Preference will be given to those who can help with the driving.
